Wheels of NYC
After seeing some photos from previous events at the Navy Yard, I thought it would be a good idea to check it out myself this time. Being held during the late afternoon meant that there would be a different type of atmosphere. I hopped into the GT4, toughed out the drive through Staten Island into Brooklyn to check out what Wheels of NYC was putting together.
An empty warehouse and a good amount of variety, all things considered. This was happening concurrently with WekFest in Jersey, so there weren’t as many JDM cars there. Personally, the Navy Yard was the place to be. I’ve done shows at convention centers before and there’s not much visually appealing for photos unless you’re grabbing some detailed shots or cars arriving/leaving. There was just something appealing about the Navy Yard. Maybe the infrastructure? The cars? The people? One thing I do wish I took advantage of was taking photos around the other areas on the property before leaving. But these are things that we learn when going to new areas. Can’t wait for the next one!
